Uncharted Holiday Globe Ornament

Uncharted® Software invents, builds and deploys profoundly visual software for improved awareness, analysis and decision-making in the most challenging information environments. I was asked to help design their holiday card this year, referencing work they’ve been doing to georeference scanned historical maps and extract marked geological features to predict deposits of critical minerals.

The challenge was to have it start as a flat mailable card, that could be built into a 3-D globe ornament. Many paper prototypes were explored! The final piece was printed on a beautiful pearlescent linen stock using a bronze ink and gold and silver foil stamping to highlight the precious metals found around the world. The recipient gets to slowly unfold the story on one side and then explore a treasure map on the back as they use tabs to build the final globe.
